After two time attempt I able to troubleshoot that my outlet extension is causing short circuit and now its head is gone and power breaker made two power outage to prevent my house from being set on fire.

The first outage happen when I plug the extension to the wall outlet with the PC and Monitor plug in. And I though that it's PSU problem or Short Circuit from Motherboard. I inspect it and it has no burning smell and the motherboard look OK.

The second outage is happen when I remove all the cable from the extension outlet and plug it to a different wall outlet and then it's blow up again and cause power outage.

Will my PSU, MOBO and wall outlet damage now? I will not test it till tomorrow after I buy a new quality with surge protection extension.

This PSU is only 750w with this power hungry GTS 250. I can't believe that the power extension cannot handle this and blow up.

Sorry for my English.

Please tell me if it safe to start my system now? I really dont want to damage it because I just got this new PSU with 80+.

The outlet shouldn't be damaged by the short circuit in the extension. The circuit-breaker should have protected it.

As for the PSU - it probably didn't receive much current, if any. That's the nature of a short circuit: the large current flowed into the extension (or maybe its cable, wherever...

It's highly unlikely that a faulty extension lead would cause any damage to the PC. You should be fine to start the PC up.

I doubt the power usage of the PC had anything to do with the extension failing; it probably doesn't use anywhere near 750W. (For comparison, my "second" PC which I keep at my parents' house has a GTX260 and a Phenom II X6 1090T running off a 450W PSU and has never had any problems, although I was a bit worried it might not be beefy enough when I first put in the graphics card.)

One more question. Will the wall outlet damage from the short circuit and will it damage my new extension as well? As I set I really don't want to set my house on fire or shock myself to stone.

I need to make sure that my PC will be fine because I'm going to be able to buy a new PSU and motherboard at all.

Additional: I haven't turn the switch to off on PSU when that short circuit happened. Will the PSU ok with that over heat current?

The outlet shouldn't be damaged by the short circuit in the extension. The circuit-breaker should have protected it.

As for the PSU - it probably didn't receive much current, if any. That's the nature of a short circuit: the large current flowed into the extension (or maybe its cable, wherever the fault happened to be), through the short then back into the house wiring, bypassing the PSU (i.e. a shorter circuit than it would have followed if everything had been normal). It should be fine.
