So a few days ago, I bought a GTX 1070 to replace my R9 380 to boost up the fps that I get on my rig so that I could max out pretty much any game at 1080p. But then only after running Ark survival evolved and world of warships with minimal gains I realised that I probably have a serious cpu bottleneck. (Yeah... I might be retarded lmao)

After seeing the big gap between cpu & gpu performance cause of the fx 6300, I am wondering what I should do next?

I'm thinking about upgrading to a skylake i5 with a z170 motherboard for better performance (maybe i5 6500 for the price). I'd like to have you guys' thoughts about this, should I get an i5 and if yes, which one? : 6600/k, 6500, 6400, 4460...etc or should I wait for next gen cpus like the AMD zen ones?

Thanks for your time! have a nice day :)

Solution
The i5 6500&h110 chipset make for a potent and cheapish platform that would by my suggestion unless you plan to overclock in which case go with a z170 and 6600k
