Will this home network setup work?

I am planning on building a home server soon for backups, mass storage, and media streaming using Plex. I'm pretty new to all this but I've been researching it over the past week or so.

I've come up with the layout below and I just wanted some confirmation that it could work the way I'd like with this configuration. The main questions I have about it are:

1. Would I be able to transfer files/backup/stream from the server to all the devices (not necessarily at the same time) with this config?

2. Will having this configuration allow our mobile devices and laptops to access the server wirelessly? Like my own "cloud" storage kind of thing

4. Would I, with correct software, be able to remotely access the server over the internet if I needed a file while I was away from home?

Also, does anyone have suggestions about securing this network, especially if I wanted to use a remote access thing like noip or dyndns?

Thanks for taking time to help me.

Yes.
That is pretty much identical to my house setup.
As above, the 4x connections to the NAS probably won't benefit any. Not all of those systems are going to be maxing out a gigabit connection at the same time.

For instance, my main PC does a C drive image to the HTPC/house server (NAS, in your case) every Sunday night.
100+GB takes about 15 minutes to write.
