Defective RAM or hardware incompatibility?

Having some issues installing some new RAM I bought this afternoon; Have a MSI B85-G41 PC Mate motherboard and 2×4GB of G Skill Ripjaws (DDR3 1866) currently installed and I bought Corsair Vengeance LP 2×8GB (DDR3 1600), but when installed no video is output to my monitor. Everything seems to be running and the comp turns on, but nothing else happens.

Is it possibly a compatibility issue with the motherboard? It seems my MSI board should be able to support the RAM, so maybe defective RAM? I reinstalled the G Skills and everything works like a charm.

Many thanks! I can provide full rig details if needed!

Probably an incompatibility with the mixed DRAM, never a good idea to mix sets - even if they were the same exact model, might try running the 2x8GB set of Corsair by themselves - if no joy, reset CMOS then try them 9might also want the latest BIOS)

Whoops I should have clarified I took out my G Skills and tried installing only the Corsair RAM, so with only the 2×8gb in it still isn't working. Updating BIOS and resetting CMOS, fingers crossed! Thanks for the info!

Still nothing...at this point I think it's the RAM or some incompatibility I'm missing.
