Hi everyone.

I am the proud owner of a Gigabyte motherboard model GA-Z77X-UD3H (rev. 1.1) Over the last few days, since a Windows 10 update, my USB 3.0 slots have been going down suddenly in the middle of a computing session. I have my keyboard, headset and wifi adapter plugged into different USB 3.0 ports. They all go down at the same time. The mouse is plugged into a USB 2.0 port and still usable. When I got shut down the computer, Windows shuts down but the computer does not, forcing me to manually power it off by holding the power button.

The motherboard always POSTs and Windows boots correctly. Normally I get an "A0" code on the Mobo but since the update I get either a "A0" or "04". Sometimes it starts with A0 but then switches to 04. This is when I've noticed the USBs crash.

The motherboard has the latest BIOS version (F18) from Gigabyte's site.

Thinking this might be a PS issue, I tested my power supply and USB ports using a their respective testing equipment. Both tests passed. Following advice on other threads on this site, I also reset the CMOS but I did not replace the battery.

Frankly, I am stumped. Can anyone help?

No BIOS update is listed as being for Windows 10. Several driver are listed as being different for Windows 10. I suggest you check your Device Manager to see what version you are running.

Intel Management Engine Interface 11.0.0.1158
Intel INF installation 10.1.1.8

Calvin,

Thank you for your advice, I checked Device Manager and all is well there. No updates are needed and all are listed as being compatible with Windows 10. I've had Windows 10 since it came out and I built the computer myself about 2 years ago. Until a few days ago I had never had an issue. I do not think it is an issue with a Windows update because I have not seen similar issues pop up on various forums in recent weeks exceopt for one which told me to clear the CMOS (I did and the problem continues).Quite frankly, thix is looking more and more like a failing motherboard.

Turn off fast start up in control panel. Power Options<<Choose what the power button does<<Click change settings that are currently unavailable<<Uncheck Turn On Fast Startup, I also unchecked the other three because I don't use them, but it's not necessary. Windows 10 turns this on and causes this error code on Gigabyte motherboards because it messes with the pci allocation at boot up. I had it turned off when I upgraded to Windows 10 the first time, but the latest fall upgrade turned it back on and changed the start button power options.
