I'm almost done finishing my first build, I did a test and all the fans were working and nothing seemed to be wrong. I have not yet added the video card but I plugged in both the computer and the monitor and I connect them with the VGA and DVI cables but the monitor does not turn on. I see there is an Hdmi and a display port but I don't have cables for them (I don't think) am I doing something wrong? All I have left are perif cables and Vga ones

Also this is the monitor I am using https://pcpartpicker.com/product/MZYXsY/asus-monitor-vs228hp
thanks for any help

Solution
There may be no need to update the BIOS. But yes, insert the Win10 disk in the optical drive, reboot, and the installation pgm should start.

That system should be able to produce a display on that monitor by using the analog (D-Sub) cable as long as there is no gfx card in the PCIe x16 slot. if VGA is all you have, and it doesn't work, you may have a bad board.

I took these 2 photos to see if this will help, i plugged each into a power outlet as well, the computer turns on fine but nothing shows up on monitor. Silly enough its possible maybe im not pressing a button on the monitor to turn it on, I can't find any but do i need to manually turn it on with a button/switch? Also are those 2 cables the ones I should have in? Thanks so much again for your help
