So im now building a pc that is mainly focused on 4k gaming .

The processor i choose is the 6700k bcs as seen in a linus video the 6700k had slightly more frames than the new cpus ... and im going to oc at 4,5 GHz

Now what i cannot find anywhere is : what would have better 4k performance for the best price?

GTX 1080 in SLI : 1800$
Radeon Pro Duo: 1760$
R9 295x2: 1800$

Which one do you think i should go ??

Solution

Definitely a GTX 1080 Sli. One of the biggest factors being the Power consumption and Heat, the new 1080 are a really sweet spot.
And another problem with the R9 295x2 is that the card is already on a sort of Crossfire its basically 2 R9 295, meaning it would be a Quad crossfire, this is ludacricious power consumption...

And another problem with the R9 295x2 is that the card is already on a sort of Crossfire its basically 2 R9 295, meaning it would be a Quad crossfire, this is ludacricious power consumption and almost no game is optimized for such thing meaning the second (Quad) R9 295x2 won´t do much stuff . You should always prioritize 1 strong GPU rather than 2 weak

And here are the Benchmarks you have been searching:

R9: http://www.overclock3d.net/reviews/gpu_displays/overkill3d_-_powercolor_r9_295x2_crossfire/2

1080: http://www.overclock3d.net/reviews/gpu_displays/msi_gtx1080_gaming_x_sli_review/2

Still find an overkill build, :D be sure you have a good PSU

Funny fact: I quicly calculated how much Watt 2 R9 need and its a wooping 1500 Watt PSU :ouch:

If you say you Game everyday 1 Hour during an entire Year at 1500 Watt and we say you pay 10.44 cents the Kwh you would pay yearly almost 53 Dollars just from the Electricity bill. And not forgetting a 1500W PSU is rare and cost A LOT 300$+

With the GTX 1080 Sli a 700 Watt PSU is more than enough and if you do the same match as before it would cost you around 24$ on Electricity
