Hi all. I just bought a second SSD and was wondering how I should go about installing it. I currently have a Samsung 840 EVO 120GB as my boot drive with a couple of games on it and a 1 TB HDD for my other games and media. I just bought a second SSD (Samsung 850 EVO 250GB) since my other is almost out of space. I would like to keep my 120GB SSD solely as a boot drive, have the 250GB SSD for games and the HDD for documents and media.

Is there anything special I need to do when installing the second SSD? Like specific raid setup? I've read others mentioning Trim in other posts in the past, but I'm not sure what that is.

Any advice is much appreciated, thanks =)

Solution
You need do nothing special.
No RAID or any other foolishness.

Just plug it in. It will be just another drive letter.
You 'might' have to Initialize and Format, but that about it.

This is the current drives in my main PC. The top 4 are SSD's, the bottom is a HDD, only for backup purposes
