Hi there!

Less than a year ago, I updated my older rig with a partial upgrade, something to hold me over until I had more funds.

Currently I have:

i5-2400 w/ CoolerMaster TX3 cooler
16 GB DDR3 1600 RAM
ASROCK B75M-DGS Mobo
Power Color PCS+ R9 290X
850 EVO 250GB SSD
Rosewill Photon-750 750W PS
Cooler Master HAF 912 Case

I'm looking to upgrade the CPU, Mobo, Ram and Heatsink to:

i5-6600K w/ Cryorig H7
16 GB DDR4 2133
ASUS Z170-E Mobo

I'm looking to overclock the 6600k to a modest 4.4-4.5, and read that the H7 should do fine with temps. Is this going to be a sizable upgrade as far as general performance and gaming performance is concerned? There's times where I feel the i5-2400 is hindering my system, even when using Chrome with a few tabs with HD video are open. Is the motherboard a good budget pick for not crazy overclocking? I really just want to upgrade the processor, but so much more comes with it, and if I'm going to spend money, I don't want to get an i5-2500K and have to upgrade in a year or two. Just wanted to make sure I was making a wise upgrade.

Thank you :)

You seem to good to go with the above slated upgrade components though without a budget and an indication of what you intend to do with your system, I'd say perhaps we could help you narrow your search a little more and perhaps help you go along the right path. I noticed you have a HAF 912, to be honest you miss out on front panel USB3.0 connectivity and in today's day and age you should have 2.5" drive supports. The point I'm trying to make is that you have the opportunity to downsize your system(scale wise but not power profile wise) and have a better computing experience.

FYI, I own an A10-6800K APU with 16GB DDR3 2400MHz ram and with 15 tabs open across dual 23" screens at 1080p each, I've yet to find something to complain about so...
