So I'm kinda now leaning towards the Rx 480 so I'm wondering if it will fit in my case I don't know how to check and see witch case it is but it's a NZXT I also want to know if it would bottleneck my cpu

My specs
Processor 6th gen i5 2.7ghz
Motherboard B150M Pro-D
400watt Psu I know I will need to upgrade it
Now for my graphics card I bought pre built pc and it says R5 250 2gb but once I look that up all it brings up is R7 250

Plz help and how I can find out my case thank you

you need to measure the space not your card

wires dont matter, you can just move them out of the way

Yes the cpu is more than enough for one Rx 480. Now a good advice is not to buy the rx 480 yet because the GTX 1060 is just about to be released, and it will kick the RX 480 ass.
For the case you can measure yourself quite easily

If the lenght if your card is bigger than 180mm you're golden

For the PSU an EVGA Supernova G2 650watt should be super

Or an XFX TS 650 Watt

Would the Gtx 1060 fit in my motherboard and how would I go about from changing to radeon to nvidia my guess is to uninstall the drivers then download new drivers once I get the card

You should measure your entire case length starting from behind till the hard drive cage, than you will get the total supported lenght. It´s hard to know if the GTX 1060 will fit because we have not a clue because its not out yet. but it probably will giving it´s a small card.

That's insanely big :D the RX is something around 9.5 inches I don't know the GTX 1060 yet but it should fit anything if its really that big. You should really wait for the 1060 and the RX customs boards with better cooling cheers

I'm not sure if you followed the gtx 1080/1070 launch which consisted of a $700 gtx 1080 FE (Founders Edition, basically the reference blower cooler) vs. a $600 gtx 1080 AIB (Add-In-Board like EVGA/ASUS that have 2 or 3 fan coolers and work better than stock cooler).

Same deal with 1070 a $450 "Founders Edition" aka the stock cooler (which runs hotter) vs. a $350 AIB custom cooled GPU. Why pay more for worse performance because you can't wait?

AMD is going to be an opposite effect, the reference 480 will cost $440 but AIB GPU's will cost more, making Nvidia AIB vs. AMD AIB gpus close in cost. Examples of some potential future pricing: 480 ASUS Strix (a very good cooler) for $260 vs. 1060 ASUS Strix (same cooler) for $280. For $20 extra the performance of the 1060 will be worth it.

That is a pretty good PSU that can power any single GPU but I know some of the experts here on Toms will say it's not the best PSU for the money and to look at Seasonic for higher quality components for the same or less $.

People have done stupid things with older weaker PSUs like powering a high watt CPU/GPU with OC and have had all kinds of bad things happen but you're safe if you put a little effort and caution to your picks.

That evga g2 is about the best PSU money can buy (yes better than the seasonic even)

When you're dealing with that kind of quality the 550w model is more than enough

Regarding case fans , the source 220 comes with 2 exhaust fans prefitted but no front intakes .

You said this was a prebuild so they may have fitted front fans for you.

Have a check, if youfont have any in the front you'll want at least 1 x120mm fan.

Either buy an extra one ,or remove the rear exhaust & use that
