Hi guys. I have a Zyxel Nas 542 4 bay, which has a Freescale 1.2 GHZ dual core Processor and 1 Gigabyte of Ram. Loaded with 4x4TB WD Red drives. Connected to a Netgear R7000 router with cat 6 cable and a 1 Gigabit port. I have my Dune HD mediaplayer connected to the same router, but with a 100mbit connection thats max for the player.

Problem is everytime I load a full blu-ray movie with 30-50 Gigabytes of data, either Iso or full bluray with folders, the movie stutters and freezes a little bit which is unacceptable. It has to play 100% correct. They are loaded on the Nas.
When my movies are located on my external Usb-harddrive the same movies that stutters from the Nas doesnt stutter at all and playbacks 100% perfect.
Just tested the same folders with the nas and my Pc and playback in software. It plays flawless.
So its the Dune thats creating problems.
Processor: Sigma Designs 8642/8643
RAM: 512 MB
Flash memory: 128 MB,
Thats the dunes specs.
Is there a workaround to get things going with the Dune? If I can somehow make the Nas look like a usb-drive that would probably work. I cant get a connection lan to lan with dune and nas directly that has to go through my router. Maybe upgrading the flash memory? The ram cant be upgraded afaik.

Firmware is not going to solve anything, they discountinued support through firmware many years ago. Its def. not going to be a solution.
Memory too cant be upgraded.
I was thinking about getting my Nas harddrives so act as usb-harddrives. To get some kind of direct usb-connection. that would def work. And both Nas and Dune has usb 2.0 and 3.0 ports(Dune only has 2.0). Other than that, some other kind of workaround could work, but im sure it has to be USB somewhere in the chain. Maybe cat6 ethernet to USB somehow. Anything but NAS Cat6 to Router, and Router cat6 to Dune.
