Hello , I've recently had issues with my i5 4690k over heating when i slightly overclock it ,
is it a problem with my aio cooler(i have it for around a year and a half and back when i bought it i had 4.3 ghz overclocks with 1.18 V at around 70 C)
Well now i can't even overclock it at 4.0 ghz with 1.1 V without it going past the 80s and almost reaching 90 degrees , Do i have to replace my aio cooler with a good air one or is there an easier fix?
Thank you for helping

Solution
I say check the rad to ensure there is no dust build-up that's blocking airflow. Then I would go ahead and remove the water block, apply new thermal paste and put it back on. Also, check your water temps in Corsair Link and let us know what they are at idle and load.

Does it hit 90c immediately as you turn of the PC or while gaming?
Open the case -> then turn on your PC -> keep your hears next to the pipes coming out of the cooler to the CPU and try to hear or sense if there is a liquid inside.

Lastly, did you do any changes lately or out of nowhere this started to happen?

Regards,

How is your basic maintenance? I.e., clearing out dust from the case and the fins on the AiO radiator? Might be time to take it apart and reapply thermal paste while you get a feel for the closed loop and if there is still liquid in it.

Yea i may just need to clean out the radiator , I do live in a dusty place , Should i be worried about using an air compressor to dust it off? or is it Ok? Thanks for the suggestion
