How fast of internet do you need to play portal 2 with friends

Hi.

My friend and I are thinking of playing portal 2 together but the thing is I have really bad internet. So my question is how fast of internet should I have to play portal 2? I ran a test on http://www.speedtest.net/ and my results were the following: (This was when no one was on)
Ping: 680ms
Download speed: 5.05 Mbps
Upload speed: 0.51 Mbps

P.S. is there any way to make it so my computer is higher up in line so I get better download and upload speeds?

Have you tried setting up a WISP connection? The internet will be from point to point connection from a local ISP.

Your upload and download speeds are not heavily determined by your computer, but your internet service provider. You'll probably need average download and upload speed to play with your friends. Might have to call your ISP regarding your speeds and ping.

It didnt really help... my ping was a little bit higher when I tested it (probably just my internet)

Do you think I might be able to play with only a little lag with my cerrent ping?

We have and we have had them out to our place many times. I dont think I'll be able to get my internet any faster because we live out in the country and cant get a real good connection.
