Hey,
I never managed to understand it, but I've always had a slow transfer rate with USB 3.0
With 2.0 it's like 25-30 Mbps
Now with USB 3.0 it's all kinds of speeds, mostly around 50 Mbps.

I'm not sure what to do.

I have a GIGABYTE Z77-DS3H (rev 1.1) motherboard.

Hi there Asafkur13,

PsyKhiqZero has a point. See if you will get similar results when transferring a single, large file.

Apart from that, the things you can do:
- Test both your internal and external drives with a tool that can provide SMART status.
- Go to your MOBO's website and update the USB 3.0 drivers.
- Try a different USB 3.0 drive.

Cheers,
D_Know_WD :)

Hey you guys,
Even with a single large file it's 118 Mbps Max.
So there is some problem here.

*UPDATE*

I've installed (again) Intel drivers that I need for my Motherboard
No change....

My Passport Ultra by Western Digital
But this problem has always been this way since I have my PC.
It has nothing to do with this device.
Actually, this is the 1st time it transfers higher then 40 Mbps.
