Yes you could. By simple maths (not 100% accurate) you would have a 25-30% higher performance than what you get at 4k. Since 4k is 4x1080p. Depending the games you play i'd say that you should have playable framerates at medium or even high settings.

yes it will i get a 60-55 in bf4 on ultra with hbso (or what ever it is 1 noch down)
gta 5 mostly very high solid 60fps occasional drop to 55-53 not often (left at gta rec settings)
4690k (stock)

16 gb vulkan 1600mhz ram
asus maximus vii ranger MB
crucial mx 512gb ssd
really pleased with it going from a r290
