Hi i have a q6600 GO paired with a hd 7850 1gb gddr5.

I overclocked it to 3 ghz with to stock voltage of 1.25v.

I can get 3.22 ghz with Vcore of 1.32v but my concern is my motherboard, I don't want to blow up the vrms.

The board is ASUS P5Q-VM it has 4 Chokes on it is that 4 phase? It does not have VRM cooling on it and I am using a Thermaltake contac 16 tower cooler which does not blow on the motherboard, my load temps are 52c while gaming. On the web it says the motherboard supports 136w tdp cpus.

Can anyone please give me some advice?

They probably won't blow, but why not use a top-down style cooler to keep the VRM cooler? You could also consider following the recommendation to use a P45 motherboard that you received in this thread: https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/628366-q6600-oc-question/

Got some new info on my mb vrm system

The mobo has a 4 phase power delivery system with 4 mosfets for each phase and 100% japanese made solid capacitors for the vrm system and whole board, is that decent?

It's a good entry level motherboard; check the P5Q Deluxe for a motherboard with an excellent VRM. Since your motherboard supports the 136W QX9770, it shouldn't have issues with an overclocked Q6600 (using a top-down style CPU cooler would have been better because it helps cooling the poor VRM).

http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=297187 This thread shows the impact of the Vcore voltage. At 3.2 GHz and 1.296V, the Q6600 only draws 92W, but at 1.488V it increases to 149W (too much for the VRM on your motherboard). In other words, using the minimum voltage required to make it stable at 3.0 GHz will help the VRM.

Probably becouse mine is higher binned, It's actually a Xeon x3220 GO socket 775, which is indentical to the 6600 in spec, also kentsfield but requires lower voltages, mine are 1.231v for stock 2.4 ghz, 1.252 for 3ghz, and 1.325 for 3.22 ghz
