here is the page not working error.

I am using TP-link WR740N with dd-wrt custom ROM. i highly doubt it is my router's issue since i can use other devices to visit the web page.

i have no clue what is wrong here. Any help would be appreciated.

Solution
I FIXED IT!!!! :)

i was browsing some other forum regarding this issue and someone suggested me this tool from tweaking.com, and it WORKED!!!

I used the free version with only network related stuff . A big thanks to the developer, saved me a huge deal of trouble.

UPDATE: unfortunately it seems the solution lasts until i restart my pc and it comes back.
Fortunately i found the culprit. it seems Adguard(desktop version) causing this issue. I uninstalled it and eveything works fine now.
I will check the issue with Adguard devs. Thanks you for all your help.

Sometimes a full reboot of the PC clears this type of problem, a "reboot" doesnt always fix it. It might also be a browser issue; try a different one, or download and install a fresh copy of whatever you normally use - I had a weird FireFox corruption that caused something similar a year or so ago; I had to manually purge the system of every reference to FF and install a fresh copy.

My ISP use DHCP and according to Microsoft
DHCP doesn't require you to manually configure TCP/IP settings

so i left it default.

OK, have you tried turning off firewall/AV programs, to make sure none of them are causing the issue.

Also ask in the WRT forums if any other Win10 users have the same issue - it MIGHT be another Win10 "feature"

(I swear Win10 is an "Alpha" release)

DId you know they are thinking of releasing a Win10 vacuum cleaner? Because so many people already think Win10 really, REALLY sucks.

I am using the latest Bitdefender total security on my Win10 pc and both laptop. I just tried disabling bitdefender firewall and antivirus but the problem still presist. I guess it could be a win10 issue.

i will try their forum. thanks.

That's pretty much my experience. First Cortana and latest skype desktop somehow can't hear me on my mic.... but everything ELSE(incl steam, wire, voice recorder.... and so on) and frequent crashes of some modern apps makes me feel like win10 seriously sucks.

Your ISP can only issue your device an IP if it recognizes a new device on the network, so unless your router has DHCP enabled your desktop is most likely unable to receive an IP from your ISP as it is not connecting to the network. I also highly doubt that your ISP is providing DHCP to individual devices, that is very unorthodox. They normally simply provide IPs for routers connecting to their network.

Double check your router settings, check if DHCP is enabled.

Also, what IP and gateway is your laptop receiving? You can try giving your desktop a static IP within the same range as the laptop with 192.168.0.1 serving as your gateway. Insert "8.8.8.8" as DNS.
