Z60 headset preventing PC waking from sleep

I have just received a pair of Z60's for my PC but when I try to wake my PC from sleep with them plugged in the PC just gets stuck on the motherboard splash screen. I must remove the USB, wake the PC and then plug back in which can get very tiring.

1| Your headset is USB driven, have you made sure you followed the instructions outlined in the manual?
2| Have you made sure your BIOS and chipset drivers are up to date?
3| Speaking of drivers, you've forgotten to mention your full system's specs inclusive of your OS and remaining connected peripherals.
