how can i connect a pc and laptop using lan cable and putty software so that chatting between two computers starts,as one must be server other must be client and from both the ends messages should be sent and received and should be altered. where altered messages should be visible to both.

If you just wish to use the two computers and if there are no other network connections then set up an ad hoc network between the two computers.

You will need an ethernet cable to do so.

There are many "Ad Hoc Network Setup" tutorials available online. Just find those that match your OS and other requirements.
