Hey guys,
I have a pentium g2030 ivy bridge and id like to swap it out with an i5 2500, so im wondering what would i need to do since the arch type is different.
The mobo is msi h61m-p31 g3, thanks

Solution
Nothing. If you already have an ivy bridge then your bios will support sandy bridge CPUs just fine.
Should be completely plug and play. Just take old cpu out, clean paste off of cooler, insert i5, apply new paste, apply cooler and power back on the PC
