WiFi connection speed abysmal from FIOS

The issue is fairly new within the last 3 weeks I would estimate. I currently am paying for 50/50mbps FIOS connection in Maryland between Baltimore and DC. The issue is that while wired connections are achieving the 50/50 connection speed (with BOTH routers) any wireless connection is just terrible so slow its unusable and worse yet often disconnects devices.

Here is my current setup in the house:
FIOS 50/50 into home
First router is FIOS ACTIONTEC MI1424WR Rev.1 on 2.4GHz channel 1
Second router coming out of LAN port 1 on Actiontec is ASUS RT-AC68U Dual Band on 2.4GHz channel 11 and a 5GHz channel as well, this is the device everything normally connects to with the FIOS router as a backup
I have about a dozen appliances in the home running off WiFi consistently like Amazon Echo, iPhone 6, chromecast, lenovo laptops, iPads, droid tablets, etc...

So far my troubleshooting has been the following:
-Updated firmware on both Actiontec and ASUS routers
-Reset both routers simultaneously dozens of times and even once overnight completely off
-Did a half dozen hard reboots of the FIOS fiber>coax demodulation box in garage
-Called FIOS and had them do a reset of my signal from their end twice now
-disabled all wifi devices in home except one laptop
-ran wifi signal analyzer software to determine if a new signal was bombarding my home (doesnt appear to be the highest db signals are all mine inside home)
-relocated routers and moved equipment running off them into same room

What I'm down to with FIOS is that I need a new Actiontec FIOS router and they are sending me one but the fact that both routers are giving me a hardwired connection that is amazing and both are giving me the same terrible wifi signal would point to an environment problem wouldnt it? Unless the actiontec has a bug and somehow KNOWS what is wifi and what is hardwired in the other router but that seems unlikely. Anyways I've been working this for weeks so any help would be splendid. Also this exact setup has worked flawlessly for over 2 years with no issues if that matters.

Are you sure that they are set to different channels?

As suggested, try just using the FIOS modem/router with ASUS unplugged and see if it improves.
Try also downloading a wifi-analyzer app on phone or inssider on your laptop to test other wifi signals.

If it is possible with that model. you should put the FIOS modem/router into bridge mode so that it does not do any router functions and disable wifi.

Agreed on getting the software (inSSIDer) to take a look at your channels and see if there's some serious conflicts. The software will sniff out and show you all the different routers and what channels they're on. This way you can eliminate any configuration issues before going and sending hardware back and forth.

To be honest, most people don't even need the 'latest and greatest' routers unless they have a lot of people using the same connection simultaneously. Your average circa 2002 WRT54G Linksys is capable of 54mbits of data transfer which is more than what you can achieve through the FIOS connection.

I have run the FIOS modem/router unit in passthrough aka bridge mode and I have run the FIOS router without the ASUS router and both give me the exact same result. I have tried the asus router and the FIOS router with the others wifi signal disabled on all 11 channels for a total of 22 different configurations and both give me super fast speed for about 5 minutes after rebooting and then stay below 5mbps till reset again.

I have taken both out of the chain one by one I mean that with my "-disabled all wifi devices in home except one laptop" line item I ran a single laptop and a single router on each 2.4GHz channel for a total of 22 different combinations all with same result.

Yes I have again I've tried both routers together and separate and this is a setup that has worked for 2 years without any problems and nothing has changed that I can tell. I think the key here is that as soon as I reboot everything is amazingly fast over WIFI for 5 minutes then goes down that has to mean something no?

I have looked at inSSIDer and Traffic Analyzer and they both show minimal traffic on 1,6, and 11 and I mentioned that I had used analyzer software in my original post.

C++:
So I got a new FIOS router from the company and did a complete wipe of my ASUS router and everything is working now so it was a problem with one of them not external interference.
