Im currently in the process of upgrading my computer, but I dont want to change out what I dont need to touch

Im running a p7p55d motherboard with and i5-750 2.67 gHZ and a 660ti, ive had this setup with around 4/5 case fans 1 hard drive and an SSD running at 750w power supply

Im now planning on upgrading to an i7-6600k 4 core 4gHZ with a gaming motherboard (haven't completely chosen) and a 980ti, 8gb ddr3 ram

also looking to get 2x8GB sticks of DDR4 3000 RAM

Im wondering if my power supply will be able to handle all the upgrades. If you have any recommendation on motherboards as well thatd be great

Solution
Check individually, maybe you can save some bucks. About the B and H, i'm talking about model of motherboard. B85* or H97* motherboards. Check pcpartpicker.
For start, congrats upgrading.

Asking your question, depends which PSU brand is it. 750W will be plenty fine for a single GPU and OC it with OC the CPU if you want but again, depends which brand is it.

Now a little suggerestion, are you using that pc for gaming only? Editing videos maybe? Maybe we can do a better deal with another components!

PS: Sykalke (Intel 6° generation) uses DDR4, so, you can't use DDR3.

A quality 750W PSU would be more than sufficient - but it's impossible to say without knowing the exactly make/model of the current PSU.

That being said though, an i5-750 is ~7 years old now. If your PSU is anything close to that age, it's probably time to replace it, regardless of it's quality. Very few PSUs are warrantied for that length of time, and there's a good reason for that.

For the RAM Im using ddr3 right now but with the new mothrboard probably a Z170 ill upgraded to DDR4 and its a primarily gaming PC thats why I went for 4 core 4gHZ over the 8 core at 3.6 or whatever it is.

And the Power supply was gold rated and the number was 80 on it but im not sure beyond that ill have to check when im home

Do it please, and post here which brand is it.

About the CPU. Are you going to OC? Maybe you can get an i5, i mean, yes, the i7 will perform -a little better- than the i5, but worth in terms in price vs performance against the i5? You have the money, and its your choice. I would go for a solid i5 6600k and -only in the future -OC it.

EDIT:
Also definitely interested in overclocking eventually since the processor will probably be the choke point with 980ti eventually
END
This all sounds really good haha I'm also a little new to all this so

Would this be good also with the ddr4 ram I was talking about and maybe with the saved money I'll buy a new power supply?
Also not sure what you mean with B and H sorry
