How to remove write protection on a disc

I have a disc (not a disk) that I want to wipe, but I can't because it's write protected. Is there any way I could get rid of this? I tried a registry edit, but "StorageDevicePolicies" doesn't exist. Any help please?

What is a disc not a disk exactly that you are talking about? CD? DVD? Is it an RW?

Never mind, it turns out that I had put it in the read-only drive. And by disc I meant CD/DVD (I added "not a disk" so it wouldn't be confused with SD Cards or USB).
