I am having major internet connection issues, my internet works completely fine until i play videogames and will continue working fine except for the videogame, Ill often have teamspeak running while i disconnect from a game yet my teamspeak and other internet processes remain fine, this occurs even if im not using other internet processes.

I use a usb wireless adapter but this should not be the issue as everything but games work and for the first few weeks of owning it my internet was fine.

Im not sure if it will help but i also have low ping around 40-50 but still get lag which i didnt used to at that ping before it finally disconnects still at around 40 ping.

I looked at the wifi meter in the task manager while playing and the line seems very unstable finally dropping completely when my connection drops

I also live in a university hall so the internet is shared but this should not be an issue as it was working fine previously and errors only occur in games.

In CS:GO i will disconnect every 15seconds before it reconnects and proceeds to disconnect again again every 15 seconds.

I can see this while playing the division as well as everyone i play with stops and runs on the spot before reconnecting as well.

Ive had this issue for a while and its stopping me from playing anything.

In a dorm there are so many signals usually that wireless is only good for low bandwidth stuff like phones and light Internet surfing. Gaming and streaming are best done with an Ethernet cable connection.

The issue is probably wireless interference that limits your bandwidth. In a dorm there are usually way too many wireless networks for high bandwidth use, except where personal routers are banned. And you still would have the problem of too many users in a concentrated area if that were the case.

Connect with an Ethernet cable if at all possible.

Download and run the free wifi analyzer inSSIDer from HERE to view all of the wireless radios around you. On the network tab it will list them all by channel and strength for both 2.4 and 5GHz. Post your results.

yeah i get that but i dont understand how it went from so good to so bad for gaming, i can usually do quite heavy surfing as well, tried running multiple 1080p vids last night and they all loaded fine, might just have to look at moving out as there arent any ethernet ports in any of the rooms.
