So out of curiosity, I accidentally rubbed a bit of the pre applied thermal paste in my heat sink. Should I leave it be or scraped it all off and apply a new one? Thanks!

Depends on what you mean by rubbed. If you have paste I'd take the whole thing down to clean and put a new pea sized drop on in the middle where you need the best contact. Most pastes are of the same quality but I always rub off the pre-applied stuff out of principle.
