I need help building a gaming pc!

Solution
I wouldn't build anything on the AM3+ platform today. It's dead and going to be replaced towards the end of the year. For around $800, I'd take this:

If you added another $50 to this you could get an RX 480, which is vastly superior to an R9 380. Yes, you don't have Microsoft Office, but do you need it when there's OpenOffice and LibreOffice available for free?

For about $25 more you can get a little better. But the first build you linked is not bad at all. A lot of people on this site like to shove i3s down your face. But the 6300 would do great in the task (office)

The reason why an i3 is "shoved" down people's faces is because they believe the FX-6300 is a better CPU when it isn't. They see the clock speed and the six cores and immediately think it's better.

I haven't seen anyone on this site that's said the 6300 is better. Besides most people here are Intel biased

A big part of why that is, is because the people on this site make AMD CPUs seem like a disease. They make it seem like you're not gonna have a good time if you buy their products. When in reality they're all just misinformed people with 0 experience.

I don't want to make them seem like the plague, but they're are just a little under powered. Yes, they are not popular on here, but I think they are for a different audience. More like someone who want a good pc, that's on a budget.
In my opinion most of the FX series is good by that I mean 8350 and up the 4300,4350 are just crap.
