USB ports not working but some devices still receive power

So I bought a new motherboard recently (MSI B150 Gaming M3) and none of the usb ports are working, none of my devices are recognised but some show signs that they receive power. I cant use any keyboard or mouse as none of the ports are usable however when I plug in my external HDD the light comes on and I can hear the disc spinning. A weird thing to note is that when I plug in my headset, the logo lights up but none of the controls work.

I have searched all over the web for problems alike and earlier today I contacted both MSI Support and the reseller that I had bought from; but no avail as nothing has worked for me yet. I have reset the CMOS and the sceen that came up after that showed that my PC cant detect any of the devices plugged into the USB ports.

From what I can gather I believe that my motherboard may be at fault as I know that the pins that power the USB ports transfer both power and data, so perhaps one of the pins that transfer data as been bent/damaged/missing (which would explain some of my devices powering).

I don't normally create threads but I am honestly and completely stumped with this, any input would greatly appreciated, Thanks.

System Specs:
CPU: i5 6600k (h55 liquid cooler)
RAM: HyperX Fury 2x4GB DDR4 2133Mhz
Motherboard: MSI B150 Gaming M3
GPU: MSI GTX 970
HDD: Seagate 500GB (due for an upgrade)
Power Supply: Corsair VS 650W

Do they work in bios? I would assume the motherboard is dying. You could also use a PS2 adapter (if the ps2 port is working) and update BIOS to see if it helps.

I would plug in another power supply if you have one as well just to rule it out.
