Hey guys ive just noticed since my installed my new parts my GPU has gone up in temperature while idle. Ive been using google and file explorer on my main monitor and skype on my second monitor with steam open in the background. my gpus been at around 50 degrees Celsius. Just wanted to check if was a normal temperature.

Most 960's (the twin fan models ) have a zero fan profile under 60c

I'd say 50c is warm but not dangerously so.
You can use afterburner to force a 25-30% fan profile at 40c or so if it really bothers you.
Personally im not a massive fan of the passive cooling profiles on the maxwell cards.

The newer GTXs don't ramp up their fans until they hit 60C. What you're experiencing is probably the fans staying idle which obviously will cause the temps to idle a little higher - especially if this is after a hard gaming session.

The most important thing about temps is the temp during full load. Idle temps means very little.
