Soon i going to buy a graphic card and i wonder about which of them will be a good pair for the next 2 years with an Intel I3 6100 processor?
However they are almost the same strong, maybe there is any advantages to choose one of them much more than the other one.
I hope the pcu is srong enough to handle them without a bottleneck. ( or just a bit )
I would like to hit closely ultra / high settings on Full HD.

Solution

The i3 will handle them like a champ, but, depending on what real prices they surface with, i would look into a 1060 instead of the RX 480. A 970 i wouldn;t even consider because older Nvidia cards underperform in DX12 games. This is architectural and has been adressed in teh latest generation. So, as...
The i3 will work with either one. Depending on what games you play, one card may be be better than the other. Google the game benchmarks for the games you play and each card, this will give you and idea of which one is better suited to the games you play. For example, Google "i3 6100 GTX 970 GTA V game benchmarks".

So, as DX12 games come out, the 1060/RX 480 will distance themselves even further. Add to this the extra 2/4 gigs of vram and this is a no-brainer.

The 3GB 1060 is out of the question. Go with teh 8gb RX 480 without a doubt.

It's so bad it's funny.. when you aren't in teh market for a card :)))

After looking in several online stores
RX480 price starts from €260
GTX1060 price starts from €320
GTX1070 price starts from €470
GTX1080 price starts from €670
....this is wrong..definitely wrong....

Its not so bad for the first (0 day ). I also checked it in my fav. store and the cheapest custom(!!)1060 costs 300€ and the next is around 315€. It will or must be cheaper, around 280-320 for the OC versions which is normal. On the other hand i wont talk about AMD. RX 480 available for like 2 weeks(?) and still no customs.. Interesting.
