GTX 1080 Founders Edition, manufacturer differences?

Hey folks,

I've been meaning to upgrade my GPU for a while now. After some worries regarding airflow inside my case, I settled on getting a rear-exhaust (i.e. reference model).

I've - for some unknown reason - always preferred ASUS, but unfortunately, every outlet I can find doesn't have them in stock, and the order I had placed was pushed back ~1 week (estimated delivery date changed from 20th to 29th).

So, getting a bit impatient after 2-3 weeks of waiting, and now the prospect of waiting another week, I decided to look around after a different outlet.
However, all I can find that are in stock - or a reasonable delivery time - are different manufacturers than ASUS.

Question is, then, other than customer support, are there any notable differences between reference cards dependant on the manufacturer?

More specifically, the other card I can find that's in stock and ready to send, is EVGA GTX 1080 FE, but there's a price difference from that (cheaper) to the ASUS model (more expensive) of ~75$, so it got me thinking whether the price difference is due to component quality, or just branding?

Solution
I have read on numerous times on this forum that reference cards are basically identical, only branding/support/warranty/software differs on those cards. I cannot confirm this but I believe it to be true as the designs/PCBs are identical.

Cheers for both your answers - very helpful. :)

Did some checking around, and it seems that ASUS and EVGA are essentially equal in terms of positive experiences from customers - and that was from non-reference designs.
So I reckon the only thing that held me back, was - perhaps - a slight fanboy-like admiration for ASUS products ;)

Decided to go with the EVGA card and skip the 1 week waiting period - hopefully it won't be a mistake ;P

No mistake. EVGA are indeed excellent aswell. Njoy your card!
