Computer Shuts Down Every Time I Launch Into Any Game

This is my first build, and i have been saving and researching about computers for the past couple years and I've gotten really into it so I saved enough money to get this build.

I have a EVGA 650w Gold power supply, and my motherboard is Z170A GAMING PRO CARBON by MSI, and my graphics is an Asus 1080 Strix

Ive already tried taking apart and putting my PC back together again and I've updated all of my drivers, and at this point I have no idea, like whatsoever, on how to fix this problem at all.

Like, I can do everything else on my computer but play a game, and it really confuses me. My computer runs all fine, but the moment when i boot a game it just shuts off, and my computer doesn't overheat or anything, it just shuts off and doesn't turn on for a couple of minutes.

In my opinion, its my power supply, but i don't know.

I'm open to anything, i just really want this to work out.

Update: I tried booting into WaW and my computer ran just fine, but any other game when i set it into my native resolution, my entire pc just shuts down. Now i'm even more confused.

Thanks.

The power supply sounds like the culprit. I've had this issue with an older Dell where the video card was over-stressing the power supply and causing the computer to break down. I recommend borrowing someone else's before getting a new one, because it would suck to have 2 working power supplies and a non-working desktop. I learned that the hard way -_-. Best of luck, and remember to try before you buy!
