gtx 1070 or 1060 for single 1080p 60hz monitor ?

Hi,

I wish to upgrade from my r9 380 which is disappointingly struggling with 1080p on the games i wish to play, like GTA V , skyrim heavily modded , TERA , DOOM and Warfram etc etc.. It has been fine on less demanding games but it's not enough now.

So which do you think would be perfect for 1080p ? a 1070 or 1060 ?

I'd appreciate your thoughts on this!

For 1080p@60Hz the 1060 will excel. If you own or plan to buy eitehr a 144Hz or 1440 monitor, the 1070 is the way to.
That being said, the general rule of thumb is to get the most powerful single GPU you can afford, as there really is no such thing as overkill. What's overkill today may be just right for next year's games.

I don't think i'll be upgrading soon enough, i'll just put my bets on the 1060 for 1080p.
