RT-AC87U "no internet" when performing large/fast downloads on wireless

Hi all, as the title says, my RT-AC87U has been dropping wireless internet connectivity for my new PC when I try doing any large downloads (currently with Steam, however this happened to me with OneDrive too). I'm pretty confident that it's the router, because I'm currently connected to an Xfinity Wifi hotspot and I'm downloading with no issue. I've tried throttling the downloads with no luck. This happens on both 2.4 and 5 GHZ. The downloads will start, but then after a while (usually within a couple minutes) they'll drop to zero, I'll get a "Connected - no internet" in the network connection below, and can only restore by disconnecting/reconnecting.

Has anyone run into anything similar or can provide some troubleshooting tips? I'm on the latest firmware, and I don't have any QoS settings enabled.

See link for my PC in case you need to know the specs: http://pcpartpicker.com/list/CJnzYr

Insure that you are not using an overlapping channel. For 2.4GHz select from the three non-overlapping choices of 1, 6, and11.

Great question -- the answer is no. I actually just did a ton of ridiculously fast downloads on my xbox as a test (which is wired). There was no drop off there whatsoever. I've tried downloading wirelessly with this PC with zero network traffic and I'll still get a "Connected - no internet" after a couple minutes of downloading

That's wireless, and why most networking guys consider wireless is for phones and light use laptops.

You could check for interference, which can be from other networks (and can be viewed to some degree with the free version of the wifi analyzer inSSIDer from HERE) or can be from other sources of radio waves in the used frequency range.

Haha I totally understand. What I find weird is, I've tested this by downloading a game from Steam on my SP3, and it just downloads without issue, and at nearly the same speeds the computer downloads at (between 8-10 MB per sec, some random slowdowns from time to time but nothing out of this world). Nothing else has an issue in terms of downloading large files, with the exception of the PC. It's so strange

OK so I used the app, found out I was inheriting the channel with one other device. Moved over to a different channel where I'm all alone.... and same issue. It did last much longer this time till I finally got the dreaded "No Internet - Secured". Other than that, my signal is good, on a channel by myself, etc.

Any other recommendations?

Update your wireless driver? Out of all those specs I didn't see what wireless you were using.

You could also buy a quality access point designed for high bandwidth, but straight from a Comcast technician their wifi is junk, so I am told. So you could be in the market for a new router/AP.
