Please can someone tell me how bad the damage sounds. It is a evga 750w B2 psu and is brand new.
All i did was fit it and just as a test i plugged it in and turned on only to be given a fairly big spark and a bit of smoke :(
please can someone give me some feedback on how bad it sounds

Greetings!

It could be bad. Can you give more details about the circumstances? What did you have plugged in, and where, when you switched it on? Did the smoke and sparks come from the psu or somewhere else? Generally a spark and smoke will mean bad part, but I have heard many stories on this forum of people having similar issues only to reconnect something properly and have everything work just fine. I hope your case is one of those. Please provide us with a play by play and then we can get to the root of the matter if possible.

Thanks, sparks and smoke came out the pack of the case and i didnt have it plugged into anything, i tried to turn on again for some reason later and i saw the fan was on i will fit the pc and if it doesnt work then i guess im screwed xD i switched it on into an extension cable which was fairly old, had no dust bunnies on it and same for the psu. thank you
