4K TV or 4K monitor? Any difference in GTX 1070 performance?

Hello,

Currently I have the 55X930D Sony 4k TV and I upgraded my GPU on my pc to the EVGA GTX 1070

I know its not an amazing 4k card (its more aimed at 1440p) but sometimes I run my pc through my 4k tv, at 2160p, and the performance is pretty poor (15-30fps with medium to high settings). I'm wondering if that's because the tv is so big compared to normal pc monitors (55"), that its throwing off the pixel density and it has to work harder?

If I bought say a 27" or 32" 4k monitor (thus having a greater pixel density), would I see any better performance in fps? or is 4k performance all based on the card, and the monitor size doesn't matter?

The gtx107 is built more towards 1440p. It runs close to the 980ti, the biggest thing is to get those resolutions there is a bottleneck in your pc. Either cpu or ram. Most likely cpu. Otherwise its a pci express 2.0.

Size of the screen doesn't matter at all. Its still outputting the same resolution - producing the same amount of pixels.

Which game is this you're getting 15-30fps?
What are your CPU / RAM / OS?

Pixel density is more for your eyes, how good / sharp it'll look. The computer itself has no concern over the size of the screen, just the amount of pixels it has.
