Just ran a quick benchmark of my 2500k system with new 2133mhz memory to see how much it made a difference. The benchmark is running the same exact route in a city in a near full server on the DayZ Mod. This is with a GTX 970.

2500k @ 3.3ghz, memory @ 1333mhz:
Min - 27
Max - 37
Avg - 32

2500k @ 4.3ghz, memory @ 1333mhz:
Min - 35
Max - 48
Avg - 42

2500k @ 4.3ghz, memory @ 2133mhz:
Min - 42
Max - 53
Avg - 48

Not only did I get higher fps with the OC, and then with the OC'd memory, each step up I noticed a large change in smoothness. The boost in smoothness of the game felt like a lot more than the actual fps boost I was getting. I noticed the largest difference in perceived smoothness with the memory going from 1333mhz to 2133mhz believe it or not. For those who say that running faster memory on this platform doesn't do anything for gaming, it does for this game at least.

Solution
Yep, OCing and faster memory can make a nice increase, a lot depends on the individual game. Many of the developers of games are utilizing DRAM more and more ;)
