Does VRAM/Memory Clock matter?

Is there really any difference between the 4300mhz vs the 4500mhz memory clock?
Using a FE GTX 1070 and i realized it wont go much higher past a +300 on the memory.

Not really at those speeds. In all the ocing and benching I've done, you reach core ability limits before mem bandwidth limits the performance. That's mainly AMD stuff and i have no experience of the 1070
