I recently built a pc for the first time everything was going smoothly, until a few days ago when the screen started flickering pink and blue, sometimes it crashes and goes black, sometimes it will just completely restarted itself.

For a while I was getting error 43 for the gpu driver but that seemed to stop after I did a clean reinstall of the drivers. Now it says it's working fine but the problem hasn't stopped.

I've tried everything from reinstalling the drivers to reinstalling the actual gpu, the power supply looks fine so I don't think it could be a power issue either. And I haven't overclocked either. Any ideas?

My specs

Cpu: I7 6700k
Gpu: msi gtx 980 ti
Motherboard: z170a gaming pro carbon
Ram: 16 gigs ddr4

Ps: I'm not that new to computers so don't hold back on any technical questions or answers

Solution
Thanks for the quick reply but I did a system reset and that seemed to fix the problem. For now at least.

Should I keep this thread open in case the issue comes back? (I'm new to these threads and stuff)

Greetings!

The funny thing about power issues is that they are not visible to the human eye unless they are sparking and smoking. That is not to say that is what your issue is, but those issues require real testing to know for sure. Can you provide the rest of your system specs as completely as possible? This may help illuminate a potential issue:) Also, seeing as your cpu and motherboard have integrated graphics, try booting and running the system without the 980ti and see if you have the same issue or if it goes away as a result. This can help us sniff out what may be going on.

Hope this helps!

Hooray!! Glad to hear it is working:) This thread will eventually disappear down the list over time, so if you have the problem again (or any other question) you can just start a new thread so that folk here will see when you need a brain to pick:)
