So I've got a Bthub 5 and I've looked on the homehub.home page and it says there is 2 wireless signals going out: 2.4ghz and 5ghz.

Right now on my computer that I'm typing this at it says that my computer, phone and iPad are currently using the 2.4ghz signal. Theres an unknown device using the 5ghz.

How do i access the 5ghz signal for my computer etc and what/who is the unknown. Bear in mind that my household contains a lot of devices that connect to the internet.

Thanks :)

There seems to be some confusion going on here.

The Home Hub 5 is dual-band for WiFi - in other words it's an "ac" router (not to be confused with an A/C [Alternating Current] power adapter!).

However, to be able to use the 5GHz WiFi band, a device (eg laptop or mobile phone) must have an a/c or dual band wireless adapter inside it. If it's not ac, it can only use the 2.4GHz band.

Now, with most ac wireless routers the two bands have different SSIDs or network names so you know which band you're connecting to. But with the HH5, both bands have the same SSID:

What do you mean? If you mean a wifi extender ac adapter then yes. If you mean wired ethernet via NETGEAR then also yes. Sorry I'm kind of a noob when it comes to the stuff
