I currently have a i7 4770 (no k at the end) and am thinking about upgrading to an i7 6700k. Is the performance increase for gaming worth the $350? Or should I instead upgrade my 980ti to a 1080? Thanks
Personally I would save the money for the 1080ti which is bound to come out soon enough or wait for KabyLake. The consensus in the reviews of Skylake is that there wasn't a great deal to be gained from going from Haswell to Skylake especially for gaming unless you went from say i3 to i5.

If you have a 1440p 144hz monitor then upgrading to a GTX 1080 may be worthwhile, but personally, I'd keep my $350 and turn a few graphical settings down instead.
