My HyperX fury ddr3-1600 just arrived and I was going to order a Gigabyte GA-Z170X-Gaming 7. I checked the website but it doesn't say anything about ddr3 memory, only about ddr4.

1. WIll my hyperx fury ddr3-1600 work with my gigabyte ga-z170x-gaming 7?
2. If it doesn't is there a good motherboard that does?

Thanks

Bud, I would recommend returning that RAM you just bought and going with DDR4 RAM. And if you plan on overclocking, you'll want to go with a motherboard designed to do so.

Do you already have the CPU, and are you wanting to overclock? If you do not already have the CPU and do not plan to overclock, go with the 6700 non-K version.

Thanks for everything. I might not be able to return it but I might sell it. Do you suggest what kind of RAM should I get?

First decide on a motherboard, then look at the supported DDR4 RAM on the compatibility list for that motherboard. If you are going to use the i7 6700K CPU, then have a look at the available motherboards here on Newegg. Pick a motherboard within your budget, and I'll help you decide on the RAM afterwards. If you want me to choose for you, give me a budget and I'll choose both accordingly.

I really would like to have the Gigabyte z170x gaming 7 motherboard and also the HyperX FURY 16 GB 2133 MHz DDR4. Any suggestions?

Yes, that looks like a very nice selection. I'm jelly! :)

Here's a suggestion for you- When choosing components for your build, use this site https://pcpartpicker.com and it will let you know if there are any compatibility issues with any of the parts you have selected. Chose 'Start A System Build' from the top menu to build your list of components. You may also search for videos of all these parts on Youtube to give yourself an idea of what you're getting. Youtube will even have videos of that motherboard and RAM you have chosen.

Sorry it took me so long to respond, I have been busy. If you have further questions, just ask, and I'll answer when I can. :)

Best of luck with the build, bud.

Hello again, here's my partlist:
http://pcpartpicker.com/list/2DRfHN

I've already ordered the cpu, sdd, hdd, nic, and the liquid cooler.
Any suggestions?

Looks great. Have a look at this PSU https://www.amazon.com/Seasonic-Snow-Silent-750-SS-750XP2/dp/B011HNSSES It's a little more than the one you have selected, but it's white and would match your case. The rated wattage is also a little less than the one you have selected, but 750 W would be plenty for your build. Seasonic makes great PSUs, and this one is Platinum rated and fully modular, as well. I am not saying there is anything wrong with the PSU you have selected, just making a suggestion.

You're going to have yourself a fine build when done. Enjoy!

I was going to buy the Asus STRIX GTX 1080 video card but the prices have gone up, so I need to change it.
Is the Zotac AMP! Extreme ZT-P10800B-10P good or Gigabyte NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 G1 Gaming Edition? Or is there a better video card

They're both nearly identical GPUs, so there's not going to be much difference (if any) in performance between them. Read some online reviews of those 2 GPUs and this will help you decide. Personally, I would simply go with which ever was the cheapest, or looked the best, of the 2.

I'm extremely sorry to bother you (again)
I changed my part list again because of *cough* the budget *cough*.
http://pcpartpicker.com/list/9RTmgL
Is it good? Any suggestions?

You're not bothering me at all, bud. I am glad to help you. That's what we're here for.

And yes, your build looks great except for the power supply. Go with one of the EVGA Power supplies in the links below. Both are newer, offer a 10-year warranty, fully modular, and Platinum rated for high efficiency. And they're not much more expensive than the Corsair. :)

The power supply is the most important part of your build, always go with a quality PSU.

650 Watt version http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817438055&ignorebbr=1

750 Watt version https://www.amazon.com/EVGA-SuperNOVA-PLATINUM-Crossfire-Warranty/dp/B010HWDPKW

Thank you for replying.
I live in Finland and I was going to order all the parts from Amazon.co.uk (Because of many reasons). I was looking for the power supply but I couldn't find one on Amazon.co.uk that could be sent to my location.

I found a power supply, which was similar.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/EVGA-SuperNova-Platinum-Modular-Supply/dp/B0151DNTLM
Does it work with the build? Should I get this one? Is there a better one?

I'm not sure if anyone has stated this yet but it's HIGHLY UNRECOMMENDED to use DDR3 with ANY skylake processor. DDR3 uses a higher voltage than DDR4 and that could damage the Ram voltage controller built into the CPU and damage the CPU beyond use. ONLY DDR4 and DDR3L (L as in low voltage) are to be used safely with Skylake CPU's.

Yes, that power supply you listed is the same as the 650 I listed. It will certainly work with your build. And my bad, I thought you were here in the united states. :)

We have addressed that. He has selected DDR4 RAM for his build in his parts list.
