Hello everyone ,this is my first post here although I've been reading Tom's hardware for more than 5 years.I currently have a 5 year old power supply which had a 3 year warranty. It is the FSP Aurum CM 750W 80+ Gold.I was wondering what would happen if it were to stop working all of a sudden and if it would kill other components in the computer when it dies.My system specs are as follows:
i7 6700k
Asus GTX 1070 Founders Edition
Asus MAximus 8 Hero Motherboard
Corsair LPX 2 x 8GB 3200MHz RAM
2 HDD+1 SSD
If I am upgrading it I will surely get a Corsair AX860i(will do 2 way SLI and overclocking in the future) ,so please don't give me suggestion on which model to buy.A upgrade surely isn't needed at the moment but I don't want to risk other components because of my aging PSU.Thanks

If you can afford it than do it, as its a big part however it's not overly necessary as the FSP seems decent (not had any experience with FSP though). I do rate Corsair PSU, especially the AXi series as it's pretty much top spec.

Should I get a brand new 860i for $250 with 10 year warranty or go for a 1200i in perfect condition for $200 which has been used 4 years and has 3 years warranty left? Are there hidden risks of buying a used powers supply?I tested the 1200i and it works perfectly fine.
