I just built a pc and when i attached it to a screen and turned it on, the BIOS doesn't show up.
I have rechecked everything and i can't find the solution. When i look at the inside of my computer though, everything looks fine and working.
I am using a Gigabyte H110M-S2H

Also, if it's easier: can i install an OS without opening my BIOS?

Solution
refer to mother board manual to find out what the light means . ya try clearing cmos and barrerty after ya got the cards seated correctly?
but your manual wil tell ya what each light means ect just like when ya get arroe code beps stead of a main board speaker some boards use led for no ram or video

Greetings!

Do you have a dedicated graphics card or are you using on-board graphics? If you have a dedicated card, is it possible that you have the cable plugged into the motherboard I/O? Simplest place to start:)

i am using a dedicated card, but i can't find any ports except for the ram- alike port ( i don't know all the names) and the outgoing ports (vga, hdmi etc.)

Edit: could it be that i have to attach a keyboard and press an f(number) button?

Hmmm...Does anything show on the screen? If there is at least a screen with some info, then yes, it may be that all you need to do is press a button. For some motherboards it is 'delete', for others it might be f2 or f4, or f8 I believe. For Gigabyte, you would press the 'delete' key during post.

Nope, nothing shows up just booting doing nothing. In fact, the screen remains in sleep mode.

Are ya getting a print or a screen of any type at all? Bios could be hanging pull main board battery discharge all the power from the system ect . Well ya might need to reseat the video aka graphics card or your ram. And beeping. The beeps of the board I'll usually tell ya no ram or video ect...

Ok...try moving your display cable from the dedicated graphics card and plug it into the motherboard if you can (HDMI I believe is available for your motherboad) and see if that gives you something.

At this point. Like I said try reseating ram video card double checking what's other said about the video cable . Ya running sli dual vid card system if that the case try it with one card or try the field card in different PCI express 16 slot if ya have one . Ya can to test ya hardware one price at a time to find the problem .I do find alot of newer mainboard do have alot of issues with bios hanging some times ya also got to pull the mother board battery and completely discharge posts from the system and leave it off for 5 min or so some time to get bios to infant they finicky some times . Try all that first then. Your diagnosing if ya got a bad place ice of hardware ect.. after that

Hmmm...

Ok, before you go changing a bunch of stuff around, let's backup a little and try one more test. I feel if we have you manipulate RAM, battery, gpu, etc. all at once we are adding too many potentials too early into the troubleshooting. I like a one rabbit hole at a time approach.

Gotimo, you mentioned that everything seems to be working just without visuals...Are all fans coming on? [The gpu fans may not for they may have a setting for only coming on under load or at certain temperature thresholds] You said no beeps, so maybe it is posting just fine, just not to the screen. So, I recommend we try another simple test. Make sure you are powered off and unplugged from the wall. Plug your monitor into the motherboard I/O at the rear of your computer and remove your dedicated graphics card physically from the motherboard and unplug its power connection to the power supply...basically, completely remove it from your computer. This will force your computer to use only the integrated graphics in your cpu and motherboard. Power the system back on and let us know if you get anything on the monitor.

My theory is that there may be a driver or gpu issue (it could be BIOS as well, but isolating tests are important, so we won't try that yet) and by removing the dedicated gpu we might get visuals that will allow us to test and solve on a software level as well as a hardware level. Also, please list your full specs so we can know exactly what parts we are working with...this could help us root out any hardware conflicts and allow us to research your parts to try to understand if there is a common issue at play between any of your components.

So, let us start with the simple test above and then we can go from there depending on the results.

p.s. I removed the 'solution' accredited to me above for we haven't solved your problem yet...:)

Just what I said you need to test one piece at a time to isolate to issue

It was the video card not being plugged in right... I plugged it in, but now my problem is that i get an orange light blinking at the lower-left part of my motherboard.
