You're gonna want a higher quality supply in the 500-600W range. That model -could- handle it, but you're cutting it pretty close. I'd go for EVGA (600+), Antec, Seasonic, or XFX in the 500+ range.

Oh jk, you're gonna want a new power supply. I think there are adapters, but your supply has the connectors it has for reasons. Not the best idea to try to circumvent that. Sorry, I read your post and forgot the second half. =p

Greetings!

It appears that you do not have the correct amount of connectors available on that psu:-( So, yes, you will need to get a different psu in order to properly add the 1080 to your system.

Here is a very decent and well priced option: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/Rp8H99/corsair-power-supply-cp9020091na

Here is an article about it: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/corsair-rm650x-psu,review-33614-11.html

It has all the necessary connections for your setup including the two vga/pcie connections needed for that 1080. If you are looking to add a second EVGA GTX 1080 FTW later for SLI, you will need a psu with even more 8 pin pcie connections. A decent option for that would be: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/qhPzK8/evga-power-supply-220gs0850v1

These are both upper tier psus, and I would not recommend anything below a tier two psu for reliable and safe power. Here is the tier list from this forum to help: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/id-2547993/psu-tier-list.html

I hope this helps!

Yeah, that is why I offered modular psus...you could look right at the picture and know precisely what connectors were available.
