Hi, a friend of mine told me that he has this model of motherboard: ASUS M4A78LT-M LE. And he is trying with one of the supposed compatible processors (an AMD of type Socket AM3) and it doesn't fit because this motherboard, in the center of the socket has a higher part that doesn't allow the rest of the CPU to fit ok. I found an image where it can be seen that higher part that he mention. Is there any difference in this type of motherboard or the CPU has to fit ok anyways?

This is the motherboard review: http://

That is a low-end economy model motherboard. Looking at the published CPU Support List, I can see it doesn't support CPUs with a Thermal Design Power (TDP) over 95 watts. Besides knowing what CPU model you have, you also need to know the Revision number of the Printed Circuit Board (PCB).

Thanks for your answer Calvin, but have you seen what I mention about the socket? It seems to be a common socket AM3, but I don't know what is that elevated part in the center, I haven't seen none of those processors listed with any difference in the height of the pins for their centre to fit.
