Upgrading a DVD Burner to a Blu-Ray drive on Refurbished laptop

I just purchased a refurbished laptop and the optical drive doesn't eject when I press the button (it only did once out of 10 tries) but ejects when I use the operating system to do so. The drive works fine otherwise and reads the disks. Before even buying the laptop I was thinking of upgrading the drive to a Blu-ray drive. Now, what I am wondering is if I would be able to use the bezel from the old drive and get any bluray that fits, or if the fact that this one has that defect prevents me from doing so successfully. Would I have to buy the original bluray drive for this laptop model just because the current one doesn't eject properly. Also, it might sound like a rookie question, but replacing the drive will solve this issue right or could there be something else internally that could prevent a drive from ejecting properly.

Solution
The front bezel could be the issue. I would open the drive and release the tabs that hold the bezel. Use a pen or something small to trigger the eject button and you will know if its the drive or the bezel itself.
