Hi Guys
I need to get a server for our office which will be running windows server 2012 and two medical applications. Up to 5 users at one time will be logging in remotely and using the system.

I saw a machine for sale which has Dual x5670 processes and 72GB of RAM (Dell Precision T5500). My question is would this be good for above setup? or should i just go build/buy a 6th gen i7 machine for about the same amount of money (~$700-$1000).

Thank you

Solution
For your purposes Xeon is the one to go for. they draw far less power and they are designed to run 24-7. i7s are designed to run games and video editing as fast as possible. Xeons are better for multitasking. Get a Xeon
