Hello all ,

My CPU is AMD FX-8350 4.0 GHz and my question is : If I turned off Shader Cache , will it have an impact on the lifecycle of this CPU or it will be a zero to little effect on it

I wants to turn it off because i have a phobia of failed Hard Drives :D and when i installed the AMD crimson update months ago i didn't notice that the shader cache option is on and starting from a month ago i noticed that games loading became slower and triggering attacks , effects or explosions in any game for only the first time is usually accompanied by a little freeze ( For example in FFX/X-2 any Spell used for the first time it usually comes with a little Freeze) and my fears came again that this is a failed hard drive especially that i live in a country with hot weather and its summer here so when i turned off the shader cache option i noticed a Superior loading times and no freezing at all for any first time usage

so by turning this off then will it impact the life cycle of my CPU especially in open world games or it is negligible impact ? and which is having more impact : the impact of enabling Shader cache on the HDD or the impact of disabling the Shader Case on the CPU , and will increasing Ram have an impact on both Cases ?

My PC is :

Windows 7 X64
8 GB Ram
AMD R9 380 4GB
AMD FX 8350 4.0 Ghz
Two Western Black 7200 RPM 1 TB each

Solution
Shader cache is a graphics option and has nothing to do with the hard drives. Nor will it impact the life expectancy of the CPU (even one with integrated graphics) in the least.
