I'm rebuilding/upgrading about half of my system and one of the parts is the mobo. To my understanding the OEM key is locked onto the motherboard meaning if i replace it no more win 7 from that key. The IT guy at my job said that as long as you tell the windows rep on the phone (when trying to re input the key thing) that you are replacing the mobo cause its damaged you can use the key again. Is this correct or is there another way assuming his way is wrong/wont work?
