I would like to upgrade my videocard. Currently I have an Nvidia 670 GTX 2GB it is a sweet card, but I would like to get another card, I have eyed the 970 as the prices have gone down and I think my power supply can handle it as it can handle the 670 GTX (which requires 550 watts and the 970 requires 600 watts.)

However, I see the benchmarks for both cards to be not that different which is off considering the difference between generations. I am not worried about using VR with this machine, but I would like to run some games at max settings while I still can before needing to replace the whole machine.

Solution
Well a GTX 970 is about ~35% faster. That may not be worth the price you're going to fork out. However you do get more Vram and more support.

If I were you, I would look at higher cards Such as the GTX 1070. Which should run off a 600w power supply as well and depending, about under double the performance.
depends on budget
-good luck

I am looking at maybe getting a 1060... I can easily handle that and I am sure I can handle the 1070 but budget and well I think a 1060 will be more than enough... I jsut have to wait until they are not out of stock everywhere :p
